U2 To Release Trance Album

All you U2 fans will be thrilled to know that the band is working on another album, and this one is gonna be unlike anything they've done before.

U2 collaborated with producer Brian Eno on their new "trance" inspired album, and Bono says fans will be shocked by the results.

Bono says, "Normally when you play a U2 tune, it clears the dancefloor. And that may not be true of this. There's some trance influences. But there's some very hardcore guitar coming out of The Edge. Real molten metal.

"It's not like anything we've ever done before, and we don't think it sounds like anything anyone else has done either."

Anything by U2 has to be at least rooted in greatness. I know Edge has said he still thinks they're capable of their best work, so whenever they're gearing up for a new album, I keep my fingers crossed. And, their last two albums are two of their finest works, so I don't see them slowing up now.

i'm a huge u2 fan but i'm a little worried. they are rushing pretty quickly into making a new album. what makes U2 great IS that they're a break away from the heavy dance stuff. i know that everything they've touched as been golden, but this may be a little too much of something they're not. if anything, take us back to the joshua tree/achtung baby days....that's the stuff that's pure.
