Pete Doherty Is Not Original

Pete Doherty

Pete Doherty is a thief! That’s what Wayne Kenyon-former friend of Babyshambles guitarist Mik Whitnall- is saying.

Kenyon is claiming that Doherty has stolen a tune from him and he hasn’t given him any sort of credit.

Kenyon says, "Baddie's Boogie is a tune I wrote for The Ferrymen. I have footage of me playing it at three gigs in Germany in 1997. I have written to Babyshambles' record company and they said they were passing it on to their lawyers. But I have heard nothing since."

Apparently, Whitnall had promised him some sort of credit but the only person that got credit was the Babyshambles star.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened to Doherty. The junkie is also facing claims he used lyrics from Nick Toczeks on Baddie's Boogie without permission.

Bad Pete! Bad! What kind of poet/musician are you if you keep stealing other peoples work?

The Ferrymen website claims that Mick Whitnall took 'Undercover Elephant' and turned it into the classic Baddies Boogie. Maybe you should look into that rather than accuse Pete of anything. Hell, haven't Oasis got away with raping the Beatles' back catalogue for years?

yeah yeah
It was likely Mick that stole the riff not Pete. I think Mick has a penchant for that sort of thing, he's not the most original bloke
