FBI Looking Into Levert's Death

Sean Levert’s family is bringing in the FBI to investigate the cause of his death.

Levert, 39, died of undetermined causes Sunday after being taken from prison to a Cleveland hospital. He had been serving a 22 month sentence for not paying $89,025 in back child support. Authorities said Levert was placed in a restraint chair after banging on his cell door. Shortly thereafter, he experienced shallow breathing and was taken to Lutheran Hospital where he died an hour later. FBI spokesman Scott Wilson says agents would meet with Levert's family.

Sean Levert and his brother Gerald formed the group Levert and produced such hits as “Casanova” and “Baby I’m Ready”. Gerald died of an accidental drug overdose in 2006.
