iTunes Lowering Prices In UK

Misc.

Wooohooo....Apple has announced that it will lower prices for iTunes music in the UK! The price drop will be in effect within the six months in Europe.

Apple has said that it will "reconsider its continuing relationship" with record companies who charge higher wholesale prices in the UK than elsewhere in Europe.

"This is an important step towards a pan-European marketplace for music," Steve Jobs, Apple's chief executive, said.

"We hope every major record label will take a pan-European view of pricing."

No word on when the prices will drop in the US, so don't hold your breath!

The prices shouldn't fall in the US! The price in the UK is falling from 79p to 74p, the US price is 99$ which is 50p, still considerably lower than in both the UK and Europe!
