Miley Cyrus Accused Of Copyright Infringement

Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus has another problem on her plate right now. She's being accused of copyright infringement by the band Lustra. Never heard of em? They provided the hysterical opening song, Scotty Doesn't Know that Matt Damon sings in the movie Euro Trip. And Miley song Rockstar has a ridiculously uncanny resemblance to that song. Chris Baird of Lustra says, "If Hannah Montana wants us now, who is next, the Jonas Brothers?"

Miley's label, Hollywood Records, has not yet commented on the accusation. Listen for yourself. Do you hear the silimarities?

Those losers just want some publicity. They're just picking on Miley because she has so much other crap going on right now. Rock Star & Scotty Doesn't Know sound nothing alike. Why didn't they bring this arguement up when "Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus" was released?

One more thing... Isn't it the song writers who are responsible for this song? Miley just recorded it for "Hannah Montana". Why are they picking on her? Leave Miley alone, and pick on the people who are really responsible....like Billy Ray.

Billy Ray isn't really the reason why the songs are similar. Hollywood Records as a thing for recording music with similarities. Honestly, I'm all for Lustra, not that I have anything against Miley or Hollywood Records. That song "Scotty Doesn't Know" is about how old? I'm pretty sure Lustra has the rights to the music.

Similarities? What? That has got to be one of the stupidest things I've heard. Look at all of the songs in the world; a few WILL be similar! Interesting comment by Lana. If anything, Hollywood Records could give some money to Lustra I guess, but I think this whole thing really IS jealousy . . .

Wow, anyone will try to get attention, I swear. Joshua has a good point, why didn't you say something when the CD was released? Anyway, I don't think they're alike. Miley's songs are way different than this piece of no good of junk.

The only part that sounds the same is the begining guitar solo. Both songs have the same tune but Rockstar changes it up later on. So yea they may have a case but its weak...very weak. There are a lot of songs that sound a like. Doesn't mean every song is going to get sued. There are only so many notes to play.

Here's something from another article that made me grin: "An LA band called Lustra called out Miley Cyrus by name for a song that sounds way, way too much like one of their songs. But it turns out Cyrus doesn't write any of her own songs, so now the band kind of looks like a bunch of assholes." ^_^

That's pretty damn funny. It's quite uncanny really. HM's song uses the exact BPM, drumbeat, bassline, and a slightly altered guitar riff with a nearly identical vocal melody. I'm not picking on Miley, but the people that write her music should've really seen this coming. That's absolutely deplorable on the writers part to steal someones musical arrangement and market it to people who aren't familiar with it.
