Jessica Simpson has been talking about doing a country album for quite some time now and it looks like she is finally gonna do it.
Billboard is reporting that Simpson has started recording her country album in Nashville, Tennessee.
"I am a country girl," she told Billboard. "I grew up in Texas, and country music was what I listened to. I always wanted to wait until the time was right."
Not only is she gonna go into the studio and sing others song but she plans on writing some of the songs as well. "Writing is a release for me," she said. "It's a way for me to tell my story. That's not to say I wouldn't record a song that I didn't write. It's just that it has been a while since I have opened the book."
Personally, I like hearing music that the musician wrote themselves, because it does feel like we are hearing their story and it definitely seems more personal rather than singing someone else’s song.
