Coldplay's new album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends is so amazing! And it may surprise you to hear which two artists have had a huge impact on lead singer Chris Martin. Chris recently credited two fellow musicians for inspiring him, and it's Justin Timberlake and Beyonce.
When speaking about JT, Chris said Cry Me A River is a band favorite. Drummer Will Champion used it as an inspiration for one of the tracks on the new album, Lost.
Chris says, "One song we're always trying to chase is Cry Me A River in terms of the beats and everything. I know that is one of Will's favourite songs. And he did all the drums on Lost!"
And as for Beyonce, Chris says, "She's the most impressive person I've met. She's a legend to me but much younger than me."
He is such a nice and genuine guy. It's great to hear successful musicians giving props to other artists in other genres of music, and being open to learning new things about music from their peers.
