Scandals might help launch a career in Hollywood, but it doesn’t mean Middle America is buying it. American Idol contestant Ramiele Malubay got the boot tonight from AI after not connecting with her Dolly Parton song of choice on a performance dedicated to the country music icon. The 20-year cold’s song of choice "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind" obviously didn’t cross America’s mind.
It was an emotional good-bye for Ramiele who is from Miramar, Florida. Simon Cowell described the performance as "forgettable" and "reminiscent of something you would see and hear on a cruise ship." While Judge Randy Jackson pronounced Malubay's performance both "pretty good" and "kind of alright."
Kind of right obviously doesn’t cut it, and here is the rest of the remaining finalists: Jason Castro, 20; David Archuleta, 17; David Cook, 25; Michael Johns, 29; Syesha Mercado, 21, and Carly Smithson, 24.
