Akon is currently searching for the next big thing in music, and he or she won't be American. He just opened an office for his label Konvict Muzik, and he hopes to add more international artists to his roster. So he scouting Europe and Africa to discover people and bands.Akon says he's already struck gold with two bands he's signed, reggae/hip-hop trio American Yard and Dutch boyband GLOWB.

Listen up y'all, Akon is going country! Rumor on the block is that Akon has recorded a "secret" country album. Why did he do such a thing? Well, apparently he wants to be the first ever successful black artist doing country. Smart.
He's gonna be releasing the album in an alias name because he feels like his fans won't buy the records if he released it under his name.
Maybe Akon and Jessica Simpson could get together...

Wyclef and Akon Lend A Hand In Haiti

Wyclef and Akon contributed to the 1st annual Yele Festival in Haiti over the weekend. The event was the brainchild of the two recording artists and manager Jimmy "Henchman" Rosemond.
The artists performed for two days, saying that music can change the world. The trio are still awaiting final numbers as far as the size of the crowd and donations, which will go toward retaining counsel for inmates at Haiti's children's prisons and helping rebuild and provide supplies...

Akon Pleads Not Guilty

Hip hop artist Akon is pleading not guilty to minor criminal charges after being accused of tossing a teenage fan off the stage during a concert in upstate New York earlier this year.
And now a woman is telling the media she suffered a concussion when struck by the young fan.
